Whilst reviewing the latest updates from Microsoft, and a few caught my attention which I know will be useful for many intranets.

• Flexible Sections - Allow page customisation without strict column structures. Web parts can be resized and moved dynamically. New section templates are available, and the features will roll out from late January to late April 2025.

• Re-imagined Hero with the new carousel layout in pages and news - This update allows authors to create eye-catching carousel slides in any section type, with up to five slides in Carousel layout, enhancing user engagement and highlighting key content to establish page hierarchy. Roll out starts in mid-January 2025 and expect to complete by late January 2025.

• “Editorial card” web part - allow manual creative content customization. It will start rolling out in late January 2025. A few examples below.
